A rate calculator for a freelance writer. It has 6 tabs: Start Here, Dashboard, Costs, Rate Workings, Quote, Settings. You type the take-home pay you want, your business costs, your tax set-aside rate, weeks off and how much of your time you can bill. Rate Workings shows every step from your goal to the hourly rate that covers it ($68 in the sample data) and turns it into a price per word from your finished words per hour. The Dashboard with 3 charts shows where each billable hour goes and how the rate changes if you bill more or fewer hours. Quote lists tasks and hours, adds a contingency and checks the total against the client's budget, ready to print. You get two files: one with sample data so you can see it working, and a blank copy with the same formulas. Nothing is password-locked. Made for Excel (XLSX).
